Village of Genji: what happened ??

Trying hard to figure out the lore of this place that's happened over the course of 20 gaming years.

We used to have quests involving the phosphorescent mushrooms, and the atavian shaman (who seems to have died during that weird gargoyle event which didn't really seem to establish any lore whatsoever). Now there's only one bounty for the queen, and none for the other manticores?

You have this gargantuan tree just sitting in a particular place, doesn't feel cohesive at all, and still no trace of the atavian shaman who rudely died and never returned? Why does this area feel like a Hollywood set? For everything eventful that seems to have involved this village, imagine your leader having lied to you, there's no redemption arc here at all.

Maybe I'm just upset that all my manticore quests aren't accounted for? but the area has way more potential rather than slapping a big ol' gargantuan Gaia tramp stamp of a tree and a Druid who doesn't talk... heck I can't even find out how Danae died. Really unremarkable. And it's rather sad that Agatheis as a God wasn't pursued creatively enough. A persecuted cult from Arcadia, Gehan lying? Maybe there's something deeper to the story rather than just making this area an accomodating RP patsy.

I always thought a natural progression of the area would be to tame the manticores or rather to discover what they're guarding, or perhaps whether or not they're corrupted.

We still don't know for sure whether the atavian shaman actually turned that gargoyle a former atavian, or why he was in azdun, other than rampaging and killing a bunch of people?

Hello, I keep receiving a [NOTE] message every time I perform an action on my screen. It's appearing very frequently and feels like spam. Is there a way to disable it? The message states: 'Depending on your class, abilities, and weapons, using the KILL command may be less efficient than manually choosing your abilities.

I just started the game and after like 10 mins I decided to go interrogate Beku. He said something about a letter but i accidentally killed him. Now it says "That is not something that you can read." However the game doesn't let me move anywhere or do anything because it says "You should READ Beku's LETTER first!" whenever i try and walk or move. How do I fix this?

How do you write servant reactions so they properly address in a room full of players. $(who) and $(him) just don't cut it when you want the player interacting with a servant to see "you" and observing players in the room to see "him" (or "her"). I've putzed with $name_him from the emoting help page to no avail. I'd love any ideas you have.

So, when I mentioned that the junk in my trunk is for sale at the Flamboyant Flamingo in Hashan my credibility is at risk. Then some admin posts to the Events news and uses a well-known song title as the subject line. I have questions.

Are Events News not an IC channel?
- If so, are we not allowed to discuss Events news on IC channels?
- If not, is the admin's credibility also at risk as song lyrics are not appropriate for IC channels?

I decided on a whim to connect to Achaea again for the first time in years. My previous experience on this character was that it was very difficult at the time to get anyone to interact with me at all, and I spent most of the time just learning my class, and hunting.

Luckily, this time around, I did find that the head of novices in my house was around and spoke with me and it inspired me to want to give things another shot.

My question is, being someone who has played all the other Iron Realms games, and is used to things like AREAS showing you what level range they are, and things of that nature...is there any kind of helpfile, forum post, or anything else that tells you where a good place to hunt for your level is?

I feel as though if I can get back into the swing of things and create my own gold income and such, and have fun, it may inspire me to login regularly again, and take it from there. Thanks!

Hello!
Relatively new to Achaea, and I've noticed some classes or races have the ability to either fly into the skies or swing up into the trees. Is there any use of that?
The only thing I can possibly think of is to lose someone following you, or maybe escape engagements, but barring the Serpent's Noose ability in Subterfuge, I can't possibly think of any other uses. As someone who prefers to avoid PvP, I'm not sure having that ability would be the most useful.

Race/class combinations in regards to PvE for a new character?

Group Combat

So pretty new to Achaea. One thing I have noticed is in group combat the go to tactic is for everyone to focus down one target. Is there anything to prevent one person from being targeted by the entire enemy team? I come from a world that had a skill called POSITIONING and it would allow only so many people to attack you based off how many exits the room had in it. Not sure if this would or wouldn't be a popular idea but it really helped out group combat where I came some it wasn't just target switch burst, target switch burst. Maybe this should be in a suggestion field but I couldn't find that in the drop down tab. Sorry new to these forums.

In Hashan, I am doing the Feeding the Hungry quest and someone had showed me where a pot of bland soup was. I tried ever combination of FILL, POUR, TAKE, and GET but still could not get any bland soup. Is there a specific command for this quest?

Mudlet or Nexus? Paired With Mobile

I've never used Mudlet or the Nexus clients before. People recommend the former a lot for some things and the latter for others. Is either one newbie friendly?

I currently share a laptop with someone so the bulk of my playing is usually mobile most of the time with Blowtorch or Mukluk. Does the Mudlet or Nexus code translate well into mobile clients? Or are they separate languages? Which one is easier to carry over in learning?

I'm terrible at coding but I'm trying to learn a little.

Any help or info would be very appreciated. 😀

Newbie deciding between Ashtan Occultist or Hashan Alchemist

Hi! I am having a hard time choosing a character to invest my time in, between an Occultist in Ashtan or an Alchemist in Hashan. I have played around in both now and there are things I like about both. Without going into too much detail, my preferences so far have been:

Occultist over Alchemist (I like the flavour of Occultist and what abilities they have at their disposal)
Hashan over Ashtan (I prefer Hashan's ambition - understanding the universe, over Ashtan's - conquering the world. Hashan also had better newbie support in terms of help files and resources so far, which I appreciate a lot)
Nice people exist in both orgs so far!

If I had to describe the character I'd like to play, they'd be chaotic neutral, not a big combatant but happy to play a support role, and be into questing and PvE. For roleplay, they'd keep out of politics and be an esoteric knowledge seeker. I also like structure, but not to the point of being anal about every little detail (I have played IRE games a loong time ago and remember being forced to write essays and take long exams that you could fail... would rather not).

I'm interested in hearing what you have to say about being in either city or class, and maybe what a typical 'day in the life' is like during peak playtime for you!

Hi! I recently started playing again after not having touched an IRE game for quite some years and I have a number of questions I'm working out, between the forums, the wiki, and news/help files in game.

I know a lot of stuff on the forums reverts to "ask in game" so I don't specifically want to ask a bunch of in-game-esque questions here, but one thing I AM worried about is if I take my lil' dude beebopping around organizations to get a feel for everything, if it would have a bad impact on the character.

And if so, would it be more to my benefit to create a sort of "burner character" to feel out the orgs I am interested in?

....or am I overthinking all of this.

Also, I got an armour smith trade and it seems hard to get ahead in that. I’ll have to buy a lot of comms and prob nobody will buy the shields at what I have to charge.

Artistry Supplies Bug

So I'm making this thread for a couple of reasons. The first being to gauge how many others might be affected by it (or have noticed), and the second being to try to help bring attention to it for a hopefully expedited resolution. Yes, I've put a bug report in (Bug ID: 11226) about a month back or so, and I realize it's been very busy with the games, but it is (potentially) a pretty impactful bug that seems to prevent any Artistry work without willfully exploiting it, so wanted to mention it publicly.

When making artistry supplies, such as pigments, oils, inks, etc it's a cost in reagents via Inkmilling to make like the base, which you afterwards mix using an artistry kit. The issue is that when inkmilling these base ingredients, I noticed that it is not using up the reagents put into the mill.

I tested regular inkmilling to make inks, and it uses the materials, but this is not the case for artistry based supplies (i.e. 1 red clay and 1 fish scales will mill for 1 batch of redink and it will consume the reagents, but using those same reagents to mill for pigment will not consume them).

Has anyone else noticed this and tried to bring it up to get fixed? I'm relatively new to the Artistry tradeskill, and I have a lot of things to be made for my House that are having to be held off on until this gets cleared up, so I imagine I can't be the only one.

Hunting Speed Artefacts

I finally max'd out my critical hit pendant, so I am looking for the next few options to boost hunting speed.

I mostly hunt as 2H Runewarden so, which last I checked unless this recently changed, is second best to serpent at this tier. I am also not really worried about tanking up more at the moment for hunting.

So with Level 3 pendant, lucky elixir and trait, and dragon lair I can reach a crit bonus of 11.

Is artefact armour the next best option? Mayan figurine? Let me know if I am missing anything.

Hey folks. New to beverages and was unable to get help with the United Union of Crafters. I am trying to design a non-alcoholic hot chocolate beverage. Every beverage has to have a type from one of the following:

absinthe(D) eggnog(M) whiskey(D)

I tried a kawhe given I figured cacao beans getting steeped is close to it, but that was rejected. Feedback was:

THROUGHOUT: Hot chocolate kawhe doesn't make sense, there is no chocolate kawhe to be served hot or cold, chocolate is chocolate and kawhe is kawhe. This should be clear that it is a mix of hot chocolate and kawhe.

I guess I could try and specify more clearly that its a kawhe made using cacao beans instead of coffee beans? Any recommendations would be appreciated as I don't want to waste the crafter's guild's time with something that will just be rejected.

Okay so I am having a huge issue right now and I feel like a complete retard because I can't figure out why this syntax isn't working.
So I'm trying to form a clan and FORM CLAN NAMED | is not working because Nexus is seeing the "|" symbol as a command I am trying to imput however...
I have changed my symbol I use for my separation of commands to ";;". What am I doing wrong here???

I like the game, but I feel like I don't know if I should get into a text game in 2021. I'm not trying to sound rude to people who do play but its kinda true.
