I used to play back in 2018, got up to level 70 before I had to leave. Now that I have more time and wish to return I find that I've forgotten just about everything. So I've decided to retire my previous character and roll over the credits into a new Monk. I'll have around 1k credits to play with and I never really was all that knowledgeable when it came to artefacts to begin with. I think before I had a crit pendant, a art vial, and possibly an art tattoo. Oh and some figurines I can't remember what to do with haha.

Are there any suggestions on what I should look into upon my return? My primary focus is on bashing as I re-learn the game and get to know the new character, as PVP scares the bejesus outta me.

Sorry if you've all grown tired of the artefact(s) question haha.

Greetings everyone! My girlfriend and I are getting back into the game after a long time away. She's a bit of a lurker, so I of course offered to ask this questions to those of you who would be more knowledgeable on the subject. She is looking to upgrade her already extensive set of artifacts with an eye for getting into pvp. She is a tekura-based monk, and she is already trans her class skills and avoidance.

She currently has (Yes, I know it's a lot!):

level 3 crit pendant, level 3 armband, level 3 knuckles, level 3 con belt, level 3 str gauntlets, level 3 dex boots, level 2 health regen, level 2 mana regen, level 3 bracelet, level 3 health/mana sip rings, an intellect crown, an aldar talisman, lvl 3 collar, lvl 2 willpower regen, sycophantic cape, anklets of dash/celerity, and a black headband.

My initial thought is that she could either look at some utility movement arties like wings, but she was considering getting some artifact tattoos or more convenience items. What do you all think?

Hey guys, this is my first post on the forums so I hope i'm doing this correctly. Anyway, I'm a Mudlet user and recently switched from Tekura to Shikudo. I absolutely love it but one thing I can't seem to get working is a limb counter. I'm not technically savvy when it comes to Lua and i'm really struggling with it. Does anyone have a Shikudo limb tracker that they would be willing to share/sell or who could help me build one of my own? I would really appreciate any help I can get. Thanks!

As the title
suggests- have some artefact questions and looking for some suggestions. I'm mainly
hunting right now but artefacts that benefit 1v1 as well are cool.

Already have
Lvl 1 strength, health regen ring, knuckles and crit pendent (all lvl 1)- race is human (man-at-arms) @ 15 strength. I
have 1350cr and the no-brainer credit package if recommendation needs a top up.

First question
is- can monks use the shield of absorption armour artefact (Aeneaous paragon)? And
if yes, is this a good next artefact and is a Rondel required or are they just to have
customization/2 paragons/no need to set paragon in new armour after decay?

Beyond getting
the Armour SoA, I’m open to suggestions of what to get next- there would be 300 remaining if only
getting the Aeneous paragon. As you can see from what I've gotten already, I've followed what many suggest around here that having many lvl 1 artefacts are better than only having a couple 2/3's as those can be quite pricey for the extra +1.

Thanks for the help and suggestions!

I've seen several mentions of Tekura (I presume using the COMBO attack) compared to MIND CRUSH & Shikudo. I've got to transcendent in Tekura and am a one-man murdering army now. Still, since MIND CRUSH is better than Tekura (reputedly) I want to understand how it works. If I train up Telepathy and switch to using MIND CRUSH instead of COMBO, is that expected to be a bump in damage going out? Does Telepathy have advantages to overtraining as Tekura does (improved Tekura is better accuracy)?

Now, all my attacks and battlerage and multiple denizens in combat and so on can make for quite a lot of spam, but I would expect I would have seen something by now, even if just a glimmer.
Hi everybody,

My first post disappeared so here is take 2.

I am a starting horkval monk in Cyrene and am looking for advice - a friend suggested I ask here besides in game too.

INTERESTS: hunting, commerce, exploring, combat. In that order.

STATS and TRAITS: I love tekura! Should I go for strength, constitution, or a mix? Any traits I should not miss?

SKILLS: I focus on tekura, then kaido. After, would telepathy, survival or avoidance be best? I miss a lot right now so am working on tekura. I hope to save up for no-brainer lessons then hopefully credits. I saw sometimes people trade these for in game credits, so that’s hopeful

ARTEFACTS: after skills, what artefacts would people recommend and in what order given my interests? I heard many, knuckles, hunting pendant, health ring and many others I am trying to make sense of - I am looking for best cost-benefit of course.

I will take whatever advice I can get on top of in game help from my friends! It is a bit difficult to find monks in game when I am online but I have at least two friends that are! Oh and I did find other similar topics but they seem very old or from much advanced starting points.

Looking forward to meeting you all in game and here! Thank you!

So i'm looking for a second class that can utilize my magi artefacts, which so far are diadem SoA and a collar. What are int monks like? What does having high int allow you to do that you couldn't by just focusing on strength, and how do these abilities and strategies work with shikudo? Not very interested in tekura at all unfortunately. Being that I have diadem, does that open up scythe as a viable strategy? Would I want to go nimble or quick witted as int monk? Nooby and possibly redundant questions, but I know literally nothing about monk. Any knowledge would be appreciated, thanks!

I'm coming back from a rather long hiatus, and the game has changed quite a bit. One of the new exciting things seems to be Shikudo as a replacement for Tekura, and I'm considering switching to it. I'm getting a bit of conflicting information from my forums perusal and I could use some clarity.

Firstly, is Shikudo like the new weapon mastery specializations or not? Am I going to need to fully trans a new skill, or will my 100 lessons convert my trans Tekura into trans Shikudo?

Next, I'm using SVOF as my mudlet system. I know it supports Tekura well, am I going to have problems with it if I switch?

Finally, am I going to be significantly hindering my knowledge base if I switch to Shikudo? It doesn't seem like a whole lot of people use it, but the forums can be deceptive.

I really like the idea of using a staff as flavor, but since I'm already facing a learning curve to get back up to speed I don't want to significantly hinder myself.

Thanks!

Disclaimer: I come from a mud extremely similar to Achaea (balance equilibrium pvp), so don't think I'm an alt just because I catch up too quickly! I've already had one dude wondering after I, despite being only 4 days old, talked about monk combat like an expert hahaha.

Anyway, I don't buy credits so I guess I need to focus on only Transing one skill and slowly train up the others over time by hunting and buying credits with gold and paying credits to other adventurers for that $10 no-brainer package. So should I focus on Tekura or Telepathy first? Or even Kaido?

Tekura seems to be pretty straightforward with a small but potent group of abilities and combos, but Telepathy is really interesting with tons of abilities and various things you can do your mind locked opponent even when he/she is out of the location. Seems really fascinating!

And Kaido has that Deliverance thing which is absolutely a big surprise for your opponent if you've managed to build up the Kaido. Something like "get 81 Kaido -> run and Kai Deliverance -> wait for him to attack you" and bam quite a few midbies would fall for that i'd think. Also it has various healy stuff which would help protect me pretty decently i think.

So? Thoughts?

Or someone could just buy me a no-brainer package, I definitely wouldn't mind!! )

So I've been working on getting better numbers for a monk limb counter. I've been staring at these numbers til my eyes bled, so I thought I'd crowd source it at this point to try and get more data in a more easy fashion.

As close as I can determine the equation for unstanced HFP with no knuckles simplifies to

d = 3/50*h + 153

Where h is the max health of the target. This assumes that the target's limb health and max health are equal, which seems sensible to me, but can certainly be debated.

There's about a 2.5% error here (From 500h to 11500h, the possible linear functions result in a different number of punches to break for 289 health values) We could certainly trim that number down by filling in the gaps between differing number of punches to break.

I also started getting data on dragon and scorpion stance, and with and without level 2 knuckles, but its not nearly enough to derive a function from.

If you're interested in helping, the dropbox link for this excel file is https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/102618736/LimbCounter.xlsx

If you're willing to gather data for this project, please post it here, so at least it will be public and peer reviewed-ish. I'm concerned about getting trolled with false data, but this is a shit ton of numbers to gather, so... yeah.

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

I've never posted anything before, but as a German growing up in Thailand really into Thai-Boxing I was wondering if any of you guys out there who may have some sort of training are wondering if Tekura should get a workover? I'm missing elbow and knee combos, clinching and weapon use in martial arts a little, and I thought I would start a little discussion over it since I am not at all a computer whiz and do not know the depths of combat enough to work out intricate details. I was thinking something along the lines of being able to wield a knife with a punch and that doing cutting instead of blunt damage, elbows being more forceful way of a blunt attack but harder to hit as well because of the close proximity needed. Same for knees, but being able to use them subsequently if the head of my target is locked or "clinched" in my arms. Maybe we can work out a few nice things for classleads, maybe it's just me who likes kicking around as a monk, any and all ideas on this topic are welcome!
